im coughing up reasons
to keep breathing
but i only see
blood
a lingering heartbeat
keep dreaming up realities that i don't live in
that i don't live here
in this cell of a room
in this prison of my mind
i realize that i've never been the same
the same skin
a storm of my sky
bullets of thunder of lightning
that red girl in the mirror
looking at me like she knows me
her with that growl and those pointed horns
that glare cutting through flesh like meat
im coughing up reasons
to keep breathing and giving them all
away
