"Whether you think you can or can't do it, you are probably right"

I grew up,
Playing games,
One of these games,
Was called Jenga,
Simple game,
Tower of blocks,
Pull out a piece put it on top,
Structure falls, you lose.

Today I am playing the Jenga of life,
Everything starts out great,
The tower is all built,
Sturdy and strong,
Together it was all one sweet song…
...Boy were we wrong…

We start to go on,
We pull out pieces,
Some well informed,
Some of them are risks,
We explore,
We take chances.

At times our tower was unbreakable,
Standing tall and proud,
Other times our towers wobbled,
Not know if they’d be standing tomorrow,
Certain times we could balance our tower out,
But others it wobbled and wobbled,
For turns on end.

Finally one day,
The time comes,
Our tower falls,
With a sudden thud,
Pieces everywhere,
We stare at our mess,
Hopeless,
Lost,
Distressed,
Agonized,
It was just one mistake,
That sent the tower tumbling,
Unsure what to do,
The pieces remain on the table.

Eventually it clicks,
We take it back to square one,
Start stacking our blocks again,
Our tower builds up stronger and sturdier,
The towers may tumble and tumble again,
But over time we learn,
How to keep them standing longer.

It is ok if we have to rebuild and rebuild,
Again and again,
Because sometimes it is nice to start fresh,
Sometimes we all need,
Another chance.

This is a poem about the childhood game. It talks about the game and how it applies to life. It conveys a message about second chances.
