The Book of Life
Destiny sits with her hands cradling her heart
She gingerly opens the large book before her
Starting where she last had been
A musical composition in which raindrops are the composers
Fire and Ice are its backdrop
As the world becomes white with snow
The autumn air leaves the woods with the last tastes of pumpkin
Leaving with only a parting dance
Leaves swirling in the breeze
As they jump off the trees
The birds leave in a flash of feathers
They start their travel
With a sad song they sing their goodbyes
I hear their mourning calls and head home
There is no victory in their song
And Destiny sits with her hands cradling her heart
As she turns the last pages of the book of life
