Empty Handed
You're never here when I need you
Taking more than you give
My pockets are almost empty
I don't have much left
How much more can you take until I'm left with nothing?
What's mine is no longer mine to keep
Somehow I am more vulnerable with you here
I wonder why that is
Maybe if I cut ties
I'll be better off
I've always enjoyed being alone
Yet they say misery enjoys company
I don't.
