Day To Night
The sky was clear, no clouds for miles. The mid day sun was shining on my skin. My neck glistened with sweat. I longed for some cold water. Like day turns to night, Summer should be turning into Fall, yet still the sun beats down on me from high above. Wishing I was out sailing the seas, instead I am here, sitting in a field, cheering on my team. Daylight is fading now. The night sweeps cool air in my direction. All that remains from the day is an orange glow on the horizon. I start to see the moon rising, a small sliver bringing the stars along with it. The beautiful sight stretches across the darkening sky. I gaze upon the speckeled canvas one last time before I go to sleep.
