Even when the dark comes crashing through, When you need a friend to carry you, And when you&#039;re broken on the ground, You will be found<br /> --Evan Hansen, Dear Evan Hansen

There are voices in my head
They speak to me when I'm drifting off to sleep
They speak to me as I shampoo my hair
They talk to me when I'm doing homework, they call my name while I sit in church
They always seem to nag me when I want them to go away
And yet, when I need them most
They decide to leave me
Filling my thoughts with silence
Leaving me to stare at an empty page
And a blinking cursor

Thank you so much! And I like your idea of carrying around a notebook. Perhaps I should try it...

But doesn't it feel great when you're actually able to think of something to write, and it just flows out seamlessly for hours on end? I feel like sometimes I could write all night, but my real problem is then coming BACK to it and trying to add on to it. I have about a hundred different files that I've started working on, but never really got back to. I'd love to be able to continue them, but sometimes the inspiration just isn't there. A lovely poem, from a talented writer. P.S. I think a good solution for this is carrying around a notepad or something. I hate it when I think of something wonderful when I'm out and about, but then I can't remember it when I'm finally able to get back to my writing. As you pointed out - very annoying.

Love this. I'm sure most writers can relate.

I can absolutely relate to this and I'm so glad someone actually said it. I've been struggling with this lately and it's getting on my last nerves. Wonderful poem, and once again, every author, poet, and even artist could relate.
