Social Media.
In a generation so consumed by devices,
My utmost advice is,
Leave the digital world in it’s own
Away from joys of the globe.
Because does social media really measure up,
To running around deep in the mud?
To feeling the warmth of the sun on your face
And the beat of your heart, how it may race!
I know how thrilling it is to get 200 likes,
But have you never ridden downhill on a bike?
Felt the wind rushing past you, oh that delight,
With no other care in the world, just ignite.
Oh and how I know the exhilaration of having one thousand followers
Have you not ever let out a burst of laughter?
Can that feeling, when you are breathless from joy
Really be replaced by some comments from girls and boys?
So, yes I know the allure of devices
I’ve felt that pull much more than twice.
But in a world, full of such beauty,
Can we really replace that with a double tap and a selfie?
