I close my eyes,
Suddenly all I feel is fear.
They've taken over my sleep again,
Like every other night.
I open my eyes,
I close them again hoping to go back to that hell rather than face this one.
Sadly, I am not able to,
Day after day,
I open and close my eyes.
I look around,
Demons, monsters, ghosts, spirits.
I try counting.
My own personal hell,
I visit every night.
I go to sleep awake,
Wake up tired.
I cry all night,
Smile all day.
I'm sad inside,
Happy outside.
When do the lies stop?
I wish for sleep,
I'm granted restlessness.
I wish for happiness,
I'm granted the ability to act very well.
I wish for love,
I'm granted a broken heart.
I wished to die,
I'm granted eternal numbness.
