And Off You Go
And off you go
To the nightclub
You hate it
In the morning all sleepy
During lunch you complain
And as you dress up,
You talk of all the idiots you've served
So why do you go?
I ask you every day
I must, you reply
As you put on those high heels
And give me that sad smile
I never understood
Tonight was no different
Except I didn't know
Didn't know you wouldn't return
Didn't know there would be a maniac
Loaded with a gun
Didn't know he would fire
Didn't know the bullet would hit you
Right in the heart
If I knew, I would have stopped you
Would have got on my knees
And begged you to stay home this one night
Don't go, I would plead
But you would just smile sadly
And put on those damn high heels
I must, you would say
And off you go
