you can see a lot
you can see a lot
from Space
you can see queens and
warriors and
culturally significant bears
you can see particles
of petrified dust and
the foggy glow of earthshine
you can see diamonds and
inky tendrils of
cosmic indigo
you can see velvet and
orchestras and
ethereal silence
you can see the
deepest darkest wishes
of a billion strangers
you can see the
entire essence of living and
death too
but what you can’t see is
the homeless man in the park
on saturday mornings
he is selling hand-painted parasols
even though it has been cloudy
for months
