If life for you
Been less than kind
Take a number
Stand in line
We've all been sorry
We've all been hurt
But it's how we survive
That makes us who we are

What is true freedom?
Is it the way the eagle soars through the sky?
Is it a summer breeze brushing past your cheek and whispering in your ear?
Is it a choice or a state of mind?
Is freedom lonely?

For her freedom doesn’t come easily or lightly
It comes through hard work
She expresses herself through dance
Precise, fluid movements of her body
Her callused feet and hardened muscles give hints to her pain
She feels beautiful and peaceful as she glides across the marley floor
Graceful wings sprout and carry her mind away
Weightlessly she rises above all her problems
Her mind is given over to the music
There is no other place she would rather be
Alone in her world where no one can pull her down
This is her freedom

For him freedom isn’t quiet or relaxing
He surrounds himself with people
He loves to occupy his mind with what’s around him
He always knows he is needed when others are there
The hustle and bustle envelops him like a safety blanket
The noise is his friend
But when the sounds subside and the silence rushes in
He falls into his thoughts
Sometimes silence is violent
He leans on others to stay afloat
This is his freedom
