Beetles of Madness
Dear Asian Beetles,
Why must you bother me?
I can’t keep my eyes off you
The sight of your ladybug likeness
a counterfeit of a gentle insect
meandering across an olive leaf
The flutter of a flying machine
invading my possessions
a bite of a true monster
a vampire in disguise
The scent of a deceased salad
being consumed by giants
A vinegar river poisoned
by the wings of a skunk
Though you expire easily
just one strike on the abdomen
Then gracefully float into the waste
with your fellow companions
