Eyes split me open
yellowing teeth
ready to bite the decay of daylight
I remain in a choke hold
stuck and held frozen as winter
I’m still clutching the darkness
in both of my hands
I’m still clutching your death
in both of my hands. Tight.
The empty pill bottle
prescription filled
the red faced hurl
the inhaled death wish
I trace my fingertips
across the trauma
the scar tissue. Right here
my skin is just skin
another day
tough
raw
healing
