After the Storm
Clouds make the sky murky with trouble,
Rain is pelting the ground like bullets,
Thunder bellows throughout the town,
Lightning cracks and bright light sparks in the sky,
Winds whirl and howl.
After one interminable hour ticks by,
The wind stops howling,
The lightning comes to a halt,
The thunder moves on,
The rain turns to drizzle,
The storm has moved to the next victim,
The skies become a bright and brilliant blue with some sunshine,
And you can see a faint rainbow on the horizon.
