A Fallen World: Revisted
She sits on cold concrete
Dare not looking around
For if she does
She’s appalled by this town
Trash on the ground
Smoke in the air
Cursing everywhere
Oh, could she stare
With wide open eyes
Gasping in surprise
As she gets flipped the bird,
For letting someone
Go ahead of her
The bus reeks of urine
And vomit and dirty shoes
Then she realizes the people
Smell like it too
No insurance
Means
No cleanliness, people cry out
“Help” with open sores, and missing teeth,
And more
But why would anyone else care?
Someone has to pay
For the bills
To those cruel yet healing doctors-
How ironic? -
That give her the chills
And no one wants to pay
For her education
If you will
Not her mother
Not her father
Not the grants that
She doesn’t qualify for
So where does the money
Come from, you ask?
It’s simple, taxes,
From the rich
From the poor
Nevermore
Shall the poor only be called filthy?
Because the wealthy are filthy rich
Oh she could crawl into a ditch
Just problems in her country alone
Make her groan
The government is lying
Refugee children are crying
Seems like everyone is dying
And all people talk of is
the latest celebrity quiz
If they’re a Jenner or a Lawrence
Does that really matter?
At the end of the day
She realized we all end up
In the same place
So praying to God
With the feeling of giving up
She asked to be free
of this life destined to tragedy
Because with the war, famine, illness, corruption
To her
It’s a fallen world
