A New Chapter

it's crinkled, ripped,
shredding, wrinkling
the pictures are fading
greying, whispering
for help.
the words are smudging
blurring, losing themselves
in a pool of ink.
Chapter one. turn.
it's bright, clean
smooth, new
the canvas is empty
eagerly waiting for
the new faces, the happiness
the words, they're crisp
clean, fresh, finally
chapter two. turn.
