Scars
I remind her daily
of the past I represent.
My odd form
and obvious distinction
provokes many questions,
from her friends,
from the kids she babysits,
"What is that thing?"
they ask about me.
She just shrugs
and tries not to blush.
I will never
let her forget
those memories
of the painful past.
I will always be with her,
Always.
