The Perfectly Round Ball (that is my sister-in-law's tummy)
It just sits there
On her lap like a huge ball
Perfectly circular with a little button poking out
And to think there's a little baby in there
A little fetus with eyes, mouth, nose
Little hands covering his ears
(Yes, I saw his sonogram)
A little heartbeat inside of a perfectly round ball
He's about ready to come out
Next month, maybe
And to think my little nephew is in there
Waiting to meet his Auntie
(Oh, and his Mom and Dad, of course)
Waiting to see the world that awaits
Outside that perfectly round ball
