"And though she be but little, she is fierce."- Shakespeare

Shaking, violently, imperceptibly

From this cold, urgent need

This struggle to survive

Threatens to destroy

When there is nothing to hold to

Begging you to notice

Take away this fear

Gnaws at her core, beating

Down upon the very soul

Blood rushes to her head

In the fight

Not to bleed

Hiding in broken shells

Empty boxes

No shelter

Running, relying on the spent energy

Used yesterday

Trying to be her own Savior

Pushing away from

Hell

The knife that brings it

And the pain it holds

Screaming

If anyone would listen

Would hear her

Would save her

Fly

Trying, struggling to breathe

For air so priceless

Resisting

Kicking, biting, punching against

This urge

It calls in her head

Daring her refusal

Demanding her answer

Swarming through her brain cells

Leaving her more alone

Landlocked

Desperately she gulps at the water

Lunges for shore

Misses

Amazing pain edges throughout her

Grasping anything, everything

To live

To carry on

Not that!

Hurriedly releasing from her hold

Shoving away his bad smell

Praying for strength

Where is help?

Forgetting where it originated

Slowly letting go

Drifting back

Freedom!

Save me

Remembering, consciously reminiscing

The turmoil every night

Tears dripping

Rooftops

Trying not to jump

Pills

Heaving not to swallow

Fighting to live

And love

Holding herself together

Dying inside

Needing anything less than a prayer

Broken glass is all around

Seizing

Ready to cut

Escape is nowhere to be seen... found

The skies darken noticeably

The light dims

Death is inevitable

But still... she hopes
