My sister's dreams

When my sister sleeps
Her face is always so peaceful
But she curls up in a tiny ball
Hugging her knees against her chest
She grips her legs
Her knuckles white
And I know
She dreams about death and sorrow
I know
She dreams of choking tears
Of sleepless, tired nights
Of losing me
Of losing us
Of losing herself
But her face is always so peaceful
