Frostbite
A snowflake fell
on a December's eve.
It fell ever so soft,
like a thousand tiny, white, kisses.
Then, the sun arose
on a crisp, March, morning.
The kisses melted
and the ground absorbed their love.
When April showers poured onto Earth's soul,
May flowers grew from the love
and embellished the soil.
Soon after, the months of J
brought a time of color with the fertile sprouts.
As time passed,
the colors changed.
Bringing new wonders to our terrain.
Filling the air with Autumn joy.
Lots of embers and ambers to enjoy.
But once more the seasons changed.
This time bringing sharp cold kisses.
Just like before they fell pure and white,
only now their cruel love brought frostbite.

This was my first free verse and I was just experimenting. The message behind this was, love is good and pure. It can be exciting and bring many new, great things into life. But as time passes it can change and bring the bad parts too.
