The Storm
the storm leans in close to the land
rain water rolls off off her ashen grey cheek
and the kiss of her windy lips caress the sea
she pulls her hands through the water
and the crested waves beneath her fingertips carry towards shore
a soft sigh escapes her mouth, and her fury rolls forth
her golden hair sparks and burns in the sky
her fists pound against the stars and the echoes roll across the land
then she is gone
leaving behind nothing but a grey stillness
and a tear-soaked earth
