Last Dance
She experienced life as a dance.
Sometimes, a slow, gentle waltz.
Delicate and serene.
Defined by the simple beauty
of nuanced performance.
At other times, a salsa:
fast, fiery, and complex.
Motions masterfully intertwined.
She danced with her misfortunes;
with her victories.
She danced her last dance with cancer.
A new dance.
Intricate steps to exquisite music.
Intense. Passionate. Vibrant.
Brimming with newfound enlightenment;
Expressing raw human emotion.
A dance
Revealing the grandeur of dying;
The humble experience of death;
The final experience of ones soul
in it’s human vessel.
The strength of her final bow was unparalleled.
With a brilliant smile on her face,
And the lights of the heavens dancing through her eyes,
The music guided her to the stars.
