Unprotected
She wasn’t sure she wanted to, but she did.
He did as he said he would; he got her to fall in love again.
It wasn’t as easy as the first time, but he made it pretty easy.
She fell harder than she expected to in the first three months and that scared her.
Could it be a repeat of last time? She worried.
He assured her he was different, but so has the last “he”.
She put up a wall to everyone else.
She figured maybe if she put up a front like he was no big deal it would protect her.
But he was a big deal, and her wall didn’t protect her.
It just made people wonder why she broke when he left.
