Who makes me feel
Special
Like I can do
Anything I want
When I put pen
To paper
You are the one
Who makes me realize
Everything
Is possible and I
Can change the world
You are the one
Who encourages me
Loves me
Cheers me on
Picks me up when I fall
You tell me that
Anything is poetry material
You let me loose
And push me forward
You are the one
Who makes me forget
That I bombed a test
That I’m pushing a deadline
Because you are
Like no one else

This poem was written for my 7th grade ELA teacher at the end of the year as a present. It is next to impossible to sum up what she did for me, but this is as close as I can get. Thank you, Mrs. Spitzer!
