I lay
On your chest
And listen
To the gentle tempo
Of your breathing.
My icy hands
Are wrapped
Around your narrow waist
Tight
As if you were my lifeline.
You are
In a way,
I suppose.
Without you,
I would sink
Down
Into the snow
Leaving not even a footprint
Behind.
