A Love Letter to Poetry
I am waiting for you to come to me
So that I can share you if I like you.
(But what kind of love is that?
Shouldn't I want to share you if I don't like you?
Shouldn't I always like you because I created you?)
I don't ever want to lose you because I made you feel
under-appreciated
because I made you feel
under-valued
because I made you feel
replacable.
There is no other like you and I learned that if I don't like you when you're not at your best- no one will- and we all deserve that.
Dear Poetry,
You're my bestfriend, my therapist, you're the first ever love of my life- and I realize why I don't love reading everyone else's- because I dont want you thinking I'm cheating- even though you're not jealous- because you're selfless and understanding....
And that's why I love you.
Poetry is my everything- and is my baby. And I'll love her forever.
