The Dancer
He turns and leaps and dances with might
Spinning through the shadows of the dark night
Moving about a world once fair and grand
That's now just a cold uninhabitable land
He dances the dance of bleak harsh death
And watches as it takes the mans final breath
The dancer knows he should feel some agony
For he sees it to be that the man is he
Truly though he doesn't even care
It's not like anything was ever fair
The one he loved left him to die
Stabbed him in the back and said goodbye
He thought she wasn't like the rest
He figured they could pass the test
The man never thought it would come to this
He never saw that something was amiss
Now he's floating at the edge of the sea
Slowly drifting away and ceasing to be
All because of another's life
At least he didn't cause her strife
She must have wanted him to go
And the beautiful lady has to know
What she did to him that dark night
Was the very opposite of what is right
He never got the chance to say
"Could I take her from you, if I may?"
Never got to take her away
And be with her into a new day
Now the dancers time is here
He has taught her what she feared
That it was her that caused him to die
Using her sweet words as a lie
Twisting his mind beyond belief
He had to do it to feel relief
Now the mist takes over his eyes
The dancer ceases to be, and dies
