Ode to Words
Oh words! Why do you not come to mind
As I need you? Your middle of the night
Wakeup call does me no good,
For though my mind is awake,
My body is not.
I cannot write.
So please, come when I call you.
I am gentle.
I am kind.
I promise not to bite.
Just come, sit and play for awhile,
Make a pretty little picture on this page.
If you obey when I need you to,
I will give you recess.
You can have your nonsense.
You can have your dessert.
Just do for me what I need,
And then I will let you be.

I was trying to write a sonnet earlier. Upon not being able to think of what to say, I wrote this ode to my words (pretty much, my words were being stupid).
