My Inspiration
My Inspiration
It’s sunny –
Now it’s raining –
The clouds are thinning –
And it’s raining again.
He caught me dry
And now again anew.
Change of clothes, I’d say I look sexy –
With curly hair that hasn’t frizzed yet
And wide green eyes that can always be relied on.
The nerves are there –
Now he opens his mouth.
Comfort sets in
And a hand sets on my hip.
How well do you really know me, hm?
My eyes challenge him –
He knows it.
“Come at me, bro!” I’d bite, but oh –
Those lips… But oh,
“I can’t even.”
What are you seeing when you see me?
You’re lit up –
For everyone?
Or just for me? Because, you see, I think I’m a closer friend than most
To him
Because I talk and I think
Like him.
Yes, other people think existential too.
It’s just not
You.
And yet…
It’s just us in the hall;
Just us in the lobby;
Just us in the car;
Just us in the crowd;
Just us in your rooms.
Somethings are heard, but never vocalized.
