The Pen You Gave Me
I'm writing this poem with the pen you gave me.
It's a normal craptastic pen
Blue ink, from that BIC company
Made of plastic and metal
Pretty cheap ballpoint piece of s***
(I love it anyway)
I don't really know why
But I use it every day
Maybe it's because
You touched it once
(Your presence lingers)
I always teased my friends
For their obsessive crushes
But now I'm the one freaking out
Over someone I can't ever have
(I'm such a hopeless romantic)
What did you do to me?
You with your brown eyes
And your soft, dark hair
And that friendly smile
(Why are you so beautiful?)
I doubt you'll ever even know
Of my true feelings for you
Cuz I'm a total wimp about guys
But I still like you a lot
(I guess I'm stuck in the friend zone)
Your loud laughs and jokes
And adorable mannerisms
Have wormed their way
Into my closed-off heart
(I am content to stay your friend)
I wrote this poem with the pen you gave me.
