Breadheads
We used to be bread-heads
We used to always want more at the dinner table
From ourselves
From people
We used to crave being full
Feeling like we have wisdom run through our mind and bellies
Now it seems
We want to feel empty
Pushing Each plate away
Crashing the helicopter forks that are fed to us
Getting another portion is a sign of weakness
Pause the food contests
Its the weighting game
Suck in not out
Learn less
We used to be told to shut up
But now all we do it shut down
We used to say
We wanted taste
But eating air now
Is all we crave
And even that is to filling
No more cookies in the cookie jar
So we hide our indulgences as if we should be ashamed by the pleasure of taste
And fear the presence knowledge
We used to be breadheads
Now we are airheads
