red walls
i hold only my heart in my hands,
a cage waiting to be opened
yet i can't bear to free the butterfly
who flies within the red walls
yet too many times do i let it go
only to have to save the insect from being
eaten by a monster who lies
with sweet promises like flowers
they lure it in they draw it in and
i catch the butterfly in my hands,
only for it to fly within red walls again
