Elle (She)
She is the most beautiful girl I've ever known
Looks more seductive than the devil
A voice that makes angels weep
Mental scars that cut so deep
Nobody knows how much shes tortured within
The air she breathes in is toxic
Fueling her heart to pulse out a new wave of poison
Running through her veins and out her body
As she holds the knife and whispers "I'm sorry"
Just another pawn in lifes cruel game
Another unsatisfied customer ready to walk out before their story is finished
But her game Isnt over
And this ticket is non refundable
Thoughts gnaw away at her sanity
Concerned shes too Obsessed with her own vanity
Perfection is nothing but a fantasy
Wandering in the darkness of the shadows
Queen of doubt
Princess of second thoughts
Shrinks her stomach just to be called petite
For something other than being a couple inches too short
This is how it works
Skip dinner
Get thinner
Trade in the curves of a women
For a thigh gap and a number under 110
The number on the scale should not equal the
Number of cracks in your heart or
The number of calories you're allowed to consume
Dragged in and out from the pits of hell
Her heart charred black
With empty threats and a heavy heart, she fell
And I am at a loss for words
Because I know she doesn't want to hear 'Darling you'll be okay'
When she's become a painter
And her body is the canvas
I hear her cry and plead for someone to fix her
But she is not a toy
She is not broken
She conceals
So she won't feel
But she doesn't heal
These thoughts turn to wounds
These wounds transform into scabs
These scabs peel away to scars
Now I am not a doctor
but I know this self prescribed remedy isn't working
She is not the picture perfect image projected by the media
So she searches for that hourglass figure
The right pigment of her skin
The correct tone of voice
Pins up the smile with the artificial sticker in the corner that only I can see
Sticks and stones may break our bones
But these words are bullets
Piercing our soul and shattering our confidence
These late night conversations become scripted
We are just characters in this mind numbing heart breaking play
I know you may think shes mean
But I promise its only because she forces this hate into her heart because sometimes its her only friend
It scares me to see
Her fragile binding snapping
These lies we've told
Become scars on our souls
And sometimes we have to learn
Even the people who never frown
Will eventually break down
And it's okay
Sometimes its okay to not be okay
These scars can be stitched
These demons can be tamed
These pieces can be put back together
This war can be won
She spills her own blood
But I'll be there to clean it up before it becomes a stain upon our memories
And l'll be there
Whether you need a hug
Or just someone to talk to
I watch her story unfold
Wait for the happy ending I know she deserve but won't get
The piece of her life fall apart and
Before that blade kisses her skin
Before she skips another meal
Before she says goodbye for the final time
I just hope she realizes
She is the strongest
She is the smartest
She is the bravest
She is the most inspiring
She is the most powerful
She is the most creative
She is the most beautiful girl I've ever known
