Its Wings Will Be Clipped

This is what
I want
most in this world: to
follow my heart's poetry
without a
lingering doubt
To govern the ship
of adolescence for as long
as I can, because before
long,
it's wings will be clipped
from my back,
leaving behind bittersweet
stubs that have once
tasted the
stars
