Forgotten
Francheska
Calubag
That's all he left me
Those names which represent
A father who didn't bother to stay
To see me grow up
To watch me flourish
A man who left
Who never looked back
Who messed me up in ways I never knew
Until they began to strangle me with their cruel hands
Tearing away my sanity with each breath taken from me
A stranger who lives
With a new family
With a wife and three boys
Who do not know about me
Who never will
Because that stranger doesn't know me
He never did and never will
A memory who hurts me
Almost as much as the memories I never had
Because what is lost in my mind is nothing I can get back
But he is no one to me
And I am no one to him
Which is okay
Because memories fade and are replaced with better ones
And one day, I will not even remember
The father who didn't bother to stay
The man who left
The stranger who lives
The memory who hurts me
Because they are all just the same.
