Consumed

The typing of the keys
The tapping of my thumbs
Their locked gazes
Appearing brainwashed

The softening of voices
Texts replace words
Words replace actions
Consumed

The birds chirp eagerly
Windows remain shut
Flowers wilt slowly
The sun shines bright

Eyes remain transfixed
Computer screens
iPhone screens
Television screens
Consumed

People being consumed by technology is a very good topic to write about. It's a sad truth that people pay much more attention to electronical devices than the world around them these days (like the sun and birds mentioned in your poem). It's becoming a sort of problem. Very nicely written poem.
