association; relationship
a part, link, bond
an attachment of trust,
of care found like
the favourite sweater
you almost got rid of
no matter the tears
no matter the holes in wool
that welcome the cool air.
connections are fragile
butterfly wings,
nerve endings.
an image burned
into our psyches
walking into a house of
belonging,
of comfort in strong arms
and golden smiles.
leading the way
out of obscurity.
