Can't Think Straight

I couldn't come up with a quote,
Nor could I find one.
There were too many to choose from,
Much like the thoughts that were flooding in.
So I'm writing this,
I'm not entirely sure if it's a poem.
But I hope it will suffice.
Because much like life,
My mind is very indecisive.
Hence the simple font.
It seems to me that life just can't make up it's mind.
But then again, neither can I.
Too many thoughts.
Too many ideas.
Too many feels.
So I wrote this thing of a poem,
I swear it came from the heart,
Not because there were none that fit me,
You see, that's just the problem.
There were too many, yet, none were perfect.
The ones I thought of, well, I couldn't even speak.
"My thoughts are stars I cannot fathom into constellations."
So while non of this may make sense,
It's alright.
Because neither does life.
But I guess that's part of the wondrous mystery.
Now, I could go on and on and tell you my thoughts on curiosity, how you must not lose that sense of wonder.
I could tell you my thoughts on life and how normal is boring,
How equality does not necessarily mean justice, or
How they like to test a fish on its ability to climb a tree.
But lets get real here,
It's nearing one AM,
And while there may be constellations in the night sky,
I just can't seem to get my thoughts straight in a way that the beauty of words can do them justice.
So goodnight.
And please excuse this awful thing.
Because sometimes,
I wish I were a cat.

This was originally a school assignment and we had to include a quote. I chose "my thoughts are stars I cannot fathom into constellations" by John Green. I feel that this accurately describes me.

I don't understand why but I like this very, very much. Perhaps it is the honesty, or the delightful ending. Thank you!
