Something in the Air
The air was whistling her name,
The trees shook with excitement.
The sky staring into her eyes,
Smiling out of fear, she asked why.
Then the wind was screaming at her
Whooshing through her ears.
She was frantically asking why, why me
A pool of fear filled up her eyes.
She felt thunder strike her shoulder.
She winced as thickening rain chased her
Everywhere she went. She tried to flee
But the world’s darkness surrounded her
Until the sun shone between the trees,
On her cold lifeless body.
