As my family sits at my grandparents

on the last Thursday of November
waiting, mouths watering in delight
we wait for my grandma to take out the dish
playing games and telling stories
we hear her call as dinner awaits

this type of meal only happens once a year
but by far it is my favorite
the bird is cooked to perfection
the corn husked fresh
the potatoes freshly peeled
this is going to be delicious
