A Big Transition
When I heard the news,
My heart was broken.
But I couldn’t refuse,
The words were spoken.
We didn’t know for long,
Before things were in motion.
Until we were moving along,
Holding in lots of emotion.
They drove miles outside of town,
As we spilled our emotions out.
It was fun until the sun went down,
Then it sunk in as they drove about.
It was hard to let go of the past.
But when we got to Minnesota,
We made the fun last,
Knowing the ride was over.
