Building Blocks
the letter building blocks
I've had since I was born
I build in a tower
for my sister to knock down
she laughs at the blocks
like I used to
like destruction was a funny thing
not a problem in the world
I don't laugh at destruction anymore
I have graduated to become a builder
someone who doesn't think destruction is funny
I have grown up now
she is still young and innocent
with fat cheeks
and little dimples
but I see her pick up the blocks
and attempt to make a stack
thats when I know
she will become a builder someday
a very good one too
she will teach others about building
just like me
