The One Who Waits and Watches
I sense him
when I'm alone,
Safely concealed from
siblings, and ranting sounds,
Tucked beneath a satin
blanket-- the blue sky and
Street lamps, illuminating wispy
droplets, dance within
My eyelids
as I fall softly to sleep-- gently
To the
dreamland
It gives me delight that
thoughts are so
private--
My blue-eyed lamb,
With his olive skin,
and face radiant with
Warmth and
timidity
His arm, neatly tucked
Across his chest,
As he shuffles softly
From door to door,
And his deeply-knitted brow
That unfurls on the
Basketball court, when he retreats
Into his own
ambition
He stands
Alone, beneath
The fig tree, with satin
Pants that drag the
Ground; he
fingers the
Leaves, his eyes
Flickering to the fields
I love my
Blue-eyed
Lamb
