magic lab flask
He wants progress, he wants science,
He wants logic,
He needs proof,
She needs feelings,
She needs warmth and chance,
She needs a miracle,
And it's funny
Because he tries to piece the puzzle together,
He tries to make sense,
And connect the dots and align the stars,
While she tries to see the gleam in his eyes,
Like in her books,
And feel the butterflies,
Always the butterflies,
As smart as he was, as a dreamer she was,
They couldn’t make sense,
They couldn’t make it work,
Because you can't sprout logic from a chaotic seed,
You can force light in a dark cave without a match,
Love's not smart…loves not magic.
