Dog Ear-ing Memories
I fold the edges of my book,
Dog-ear-it, as they say,
To hold my place and not lose sight,
Of the things I've read that day,
I wish I could dog-ear the moments
That you and I both share,
The times when we're not crying,
But just lying and embracing there,
The times that lack the hurt,
The times that boast the heat,
The heart of our bursting pores and skin,
Boasting that our hearts both beat.
Wouldn't it be grand,
If whenever we were sad,
We could open that page we dog-eared,
And remember the fun we had?
