Reverend
The yellow band
of the hollowed-out man
gleamed in the sun
of the mid-summer gun
And as he fishes
in his bucket void of wishes
he tries to reel in some love
for the murderers above
the one on the throne
and the one who paid our loan
the man who took his wife
and the God who gave him life
the faces run together on his fish hooks
but straighten out as he tells the assembly about how his faith shook.
