What Do I Stand For?
I stand for people being themselves
Being whoever they are no matter what others say
I stand for being unapologetically you
Those who don’t let others stifle them for doing the things they love
I stand for those like me who are afraid to be themselves
Those not accepted by their friends and parents
I stand for those told by religion that who they are is ‘unacceptable’
Silent supporters of a growing cause
I stand for those who feel they have no voice
Those who don’t cry out for help when they need it
I stand for those who suffer while hiding quietly behind their smiles.
Hiding for so long they forget what the light feels like.
I stand for love, passion, and happiness
Doing what you love, something you’re passionate about
I stand for doing something that makes YOU happy, not everyone else
People who follow their dreams, no matter where they may lead.
Most importantly, I stand for equality
A person is a person, no matter their race, age, gender, sexuality, or religion
I stand because everyone deserves to be happy, no matter what.
