No Words
Words
they usually come
obediently to me-
brilliant, incandescent phrases
flowing out of my pen
like quicksilver-
and gathering in neat puddles
of quiet meaning
on an emotionless page.
But you...
I can't write you.
Whenever I try
the words falter
the meaning is distorted
a fractured image that does
no justice
to the love that burns
in my heart for you.
Because you
are so much more
than words-
to me.
