The Final Frontier.
Blinding darkness
Deafening silence
Palpable emptiness.

Complete confinement.
God’s hand delicately arranging
constellations in the dark mass.
A gingerly painted blank canvas.

Waiting.

Waiting for exploration.
Seeking questions.
Anticipating awe.
Nothing.

Fear of the unknown
Fear of oblivion
We avoid the alien and unidentified,
never to know what lurks in its depths.

Space lies,
barely a corner explored,
awaiting the curiosity in us all.
Yet no one tries.

No one wants to risk knowledge of what lurks there.
An infinity’s worth of fear.
